Scala Days is the premier event for Scala enthusiasts, researchers, and practitioners. The 2010 edition will be held at EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland, on the 15 and 16 of April 2010.

Scala Days 2010 is a fantastic and unique occasion to meet with Scala-using professionals and companies, to exchange ideas and form business relations, as well as to discover the latest practical and theoretical development concerning the Scala language.

A central part of the Scala Days event will be the First Scala Workshop, a forum to showcase and discuss a wide range of cutting-edge Scala research projects. In addition to the Workshop, further Scala Days sessions will be devoted to technical talks, experience talks, and tool demonstrations, offering a comprehensive insight on all that is going on in the Scala world. We have also planned social lunches and an evening Scala Days Reception, which will offer further opportunities to meet and discuss with all the people that matter in the Scala world in a relaxed social context.

The videos are available!

All the talks and sessions of Scala Days are now available online, as well as the various presentation slides. You can now live again Scala Days 2010 online, and follow all the talks that you may have missed: you can find them all on the new video page.

Hopefully the bandwidth should be sufficient to satisfy demand, but please try not to download many files at the same time: that will keep resources available for everyone to enjoy the streaming videos online. Enjoy, and have fun once again with Scala Days 2010!

Well, Scala Days is over: it really was a tremendous success! Our heartfelt thanks go to all our great speakers and to all our participants, who made this event into something really special! You can check what happened by searching for the #scaladays tweets. Scala Days has been really a wonderful occasion to exchange ideas, and to meet in person so many great members of the fantastic Scala community! And all that despite some issues due to exploding volcanos and the like (we wish everyone who remained stranded a prompt and safe return home!).

We are now working on preparing the videos of the talks. It will take a few days to complete the editing and the compression of all the files; we hope to make them available early next week. So, stay tuned!!

Scala Days will take place in just a few days! We have made a few updates to the website, in order to add the latest information. You can now find online the final program of the event, as well as updated information on the Scala Days reception! Another piece of good news is that all Scala Days talks will be video recorded, thanks to our sponsor OPOWER, and will be made available online for everyone shortly after the event.

Since there will be a large number of participants arriving roughly at the same time on Thursday morning, we appreciate your help in order to speed up registration: please arrive a bit earlier, if possible, in order to allow everyone to enter in time for the beginning of the opening talk. Scala Days - Sold out!

Due to the extraordinary interest in Scala Days, we are now booked to capacity: the event is sold out! Registrations are currently closed. If you are interested in attending Scala Days, but have not managed to complete registration in time, you can try and send us a message using our contact form. If we get any cancellations during the next week or so, we will notify you for a last-minute registration. We will fulfill requests in the order received, so send us your message now.

We received an unexpectedly large number of registrations for Scala Days: we are now close to the maximum number of people we can accommodate in our venues, and down to the last few places remaining. If you are planning to attend Scala Days, register immediately! We will close registration as soon as the few places that are still available are taken.
